It wasn’t just our final year students collecting their results this week – our Year 12 students were receiving their first year results too.

Amongst them was Year 12 Student President at Bede Sixth Form, Jasmine.

A former student of Our Lady and St Bede, Jasmine said: “I’m very happy, I’m pleased with my results. I wasn’t expecting the results I got!”

With hopes to go in to work in the music and film industry in the future, the 17-year-old achieved A in History, A in Media Studies and Disctinction* in Music Tech, and is now looking forward to getting started on her final year. She said: “I love it here – I’ve missed it!”

Speaking about what it was like to finish her first year via remote learning, Jasmine said: “The teaching and learning from home has been good, but I’ve really missed the social aspect. The College has been supportive of us all, and we’ve been able to reach out and have constant contact with our teachers.”

Jasmine wanted to become the Year 12 Student President so that she could be a voice for her fellow students: “I was quiet at school and always wanted to speak up, so I wanted to go for a role that gave me that here at Bede.”

We look forward to seeing where Jasmine’s journey leads her!
