Paige has passed her Public Services course with flying colours, achieving a triple Distinction.
The former All Saints Academy student chose to study Public Services at Bede Sixth Form to help her get army-ready. She is now off to university to study Mental Health Nursing, with plans to then join the army as a Mental Health Nurse after graduating.
The 18-year-old, from Ingleby Barwick, said she had found the course challenging at times, and was thrilled with her results.
Paige quickly made great progress though, being awarded the Overall Student of the Year for Public Services award in her first year. Garreth Evans, the Public Services course leader, said: “Paige is the only first-year student to have won the award. She has been absolutely phenomenal and an outstanding student to teach.”
Paige said her favourite part of her course was climbing Helvellyn during the summer expedition last year, which she said was “wild but amazing!”
She said: “I’ve really gained confidence in my ability doing this course. Students really benefit from the small size of the College, as teachers all have more time to help us individually.”
Well done Paige!
