A string of A grades helped ease any last minute nerves when it came to results day for Jessica.

The Bede Sixth Form student got a A* in Sociology, an A in History and an A in English Language today.

The top results secured her a place to study English Language and Linguistics at The University of Edinburgh.

Now, she said: “I move to Edinburgh three weeks today so it is going to be a quick turnaround but I’m looking forward to it.”

Of her time at Bede, Jessica, 18, said: “It has been good, stressful at times (said with a laugh) but the teachers have always been helpful.”

As for the College itself, she said: “I really like the building and the atmosphere.”

Surprised by her results today, she said: “I knew that I had got into university as I checked this morning and that was a relief, but I didn’t expect to do that well, and certainly didn’t expect all A’s!”
