The numbers added up for Oliver on A level results day

Hoping to get a career typing away in the software engineering or computer science industry, Oliver was almost speechless as he told us his results. ‘I’m just very relieved with my results. I’ve been quite nervous while I’ve been waiting and finally knowing what I’ve got is a big relief.’ Oliver achieved an impressive A* in Maths and Further Maths, and an A in Computer Science.

Oliver also spoke about how great his teachers were. ‘The teachers were all great, they were there whenever I needed them and really helped me through each session.’

When asked why he chose to study at Bede Oliver highlighted how the open day he attended impacted his decision. ‘The open day was really great; the teachers were all really friendly and welcoming and it felt like a really positive place to study.’

Oliver is heading to Newcastle University in September to study computer science and is really excited to move into his student accommodation and start his next chapter after college.

Layla is singing her way to Leeds

With a career in media on their mind, eighteen-year-old Layla is ecstatic with her A level results and is on her way to the University of Leeds in September. Layla achieved an incredible distinction in Music Technology, C in Photography and a B in Media and celebrated with her friends.

After being unsure of where they wanted to study for their A levels, Layla attended one of the twilight sessions at Bede and her decision was immediately made. Layla said, ‘The twilight evenings were great, they gave me an idea of what it would be like to study at Bede and I’m really happy with my decision two years later’.

Layla also enjoyed her time away from her studies. ‘I was a students’ Union rep and was also on the LBGTQ society’.

When asked what her next steps would be Layla said ‘I’m really excited that I was able to get a place at the University of Leeds to study visual communications.’ Layla is pursuing a career in media and can’t wait to start their next chapter in Leeds.

Jason is writing his own future on A level results day

Jason arrived on results day full of hope rocking a light pink suit and all their hard work paid off. The future is looking bright for Jason as he achieved an A in History, A in Media Studies and a B in Sociology.

Jason is really happy that he got the grades they need to get into university. ‘I expected to get some of my grades, but I’m really happy that I finally know what grades I achieved, and I can start planning for university.’

Choosing Bede was an easy decision for Jason, ‘The location was a big deal for me, I wanted to be close to home and my friends and family also spoke really highly of the courses and teachers at Bede.’

Jason will be travelling down south for university as he starts his bachelor’s degree in history at the University of Reading. ‘I can’t wait to start my university journey in September, I’m really excited to make friends and meet new people.’

After his three years at Reading Jason hopes to continue his history passion by working in a museum or teaching the subject to the historians of the future.
