Hiend admits that she was feeling the nerves when it came to results day. 

But after achieving an A* in A level Biology and A grades in Chemistry and History, the Bede Sixth Form student said: “The stress has dispersed now and I just feel relieved.” 

Next step is studying Medicine at Lancaster University for the 18-year-old from Acklam, Middlesbrough. 

With ambitions to eventually go on to become a cardiologist, she said: “I’m really happy and I feel proud. I am so grateful because I got into the university I wanted. Without the support of the college and my teachers I wouldn’t be where I am now.”
