Nothing can stop Bede Sixth Form student Daniel as he celebrates a Distinction in his Applied Law course.
The 20-year-old from Norton was over the moon with his results and puts his success down to the supportive teachers and support staff he worked with at the College.
Daniel said: “I am really pleased with my results, it’s been a tough couple of years but my hard work has paid off. My results will hopefully help me get a job so I can start helping out my mam.”
Working with the charity Mind in Stockton, Daniel is receiving guidance from the Access to Work Team who are hoping to help him secure stable employment.
He added: “Since I was 6, I’ve always wanted to be an author. I have so many ideas and I am hoping the courses I studied will help me when it comes to writing stories. I wouldn’t say a career in law is off the table but my dream has always been to write. Although for now, I want to concentrate on helping my mam as she has always been such a big support to me.”
Karen, Daniel’s mother, said: “I could not be more proud of him, it’s been a tough slog but he’s never given up. The staff at Bede have really helped Daniel reach his true potential. He has always wanted to be an author but unfortunately the software he needs to help him write is very expensive, so hopefully it’s something we can work towards. I would love to see him pursue a career in law, it’s definitely a subject he really enjoys.”
Hoping to write a sequel to Lord of the Rings in the future, Daniel is aiming high with his plans and believes his success is an example to others that anything is possible if you put in the hard work.
He added: “My advice to anyone would be to aim high, you really can achieve anything you put your mind to. I’m overjoyed with my results and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
We are very proud of Daniel and wish him all the best.
