Results day celebrations are underway at Bede Sixth Form College in Billingham.
Achievements at the college include a 100% A level pass rate and 98.5% success in vocational subjects.
College Principal Ben Robinson said: “Seeing students get the grades they need to move on to their first-choice university courses, higher apprenticeships or future goals is always fantastic.
“This year feels extra special for these young people who have not only had to reach their academic targets but also, due to the various restraints of lockdown, learn to work in a completely different way. This has taken resilience, determination and massive dedication to their studies.”
Bede Sixth Form College offers A level and vocational subjects, as well as full-time study options in sport and public services.
Keen to raise aspirations and maximise students’ chances of future success, Ben explained that this year the college has explored a host of new ways to reach its young people and deliver additional opportunities, alongside their courses, both when learning in college and from home.
He said: “We aim to offer our young people the chance to build real additional skills that employers value, over and above their academic performance. It’s all about giving them the qualities to stand out from the crowd.
“This year, it has been vital to find new ways of delivering those experiences, whether that be through virtual careers fairs, work placements or online industry visits, and our students and staff have risen to the challenge.”
Delighted to see the students’ hard work pay off, Ben said: “We are so proud of all that our students have achieved and the resilience and determination they have shown. We look forward to seeing them now go on to fulfil their career goals.”
