Sports Coaching & Development (Level 3 Extended Diploma)

Course overview

This practical course is ideal for those interested in coaching, teaching and have a general interest in the study of sport. The course has a great blend of theory and practical and is assessed via non-examination methods. We look closely at sports careers including sports coaching, sports development, fitness training and teaching. It is also the perfect route for those that may struggle with exams. Upon successful completion of the first year, students can register with CIMSPA as an Assistant Sports Coach. Upon successful completion of the second year, students can register with CIMSPA as a Lead Sport Coach. Student can use these qualifications to work in the coaching industry.

Four GCSEs at minimum grade 4 including English and maths (Modified course available if students do not achieve grade 4 in both English and maths).

Course information

This course is assessed through assignments and a range of practical assessments that are directly related to current industry practice. Examples include written reports, presentations and observations of practical competence. There are no exams for this course.
