Course overview

Developing your understanding of mathematics could open up a world of opportunities when it comes to choosing your future career. Mathematics controls many aspects of the modern world, from iPads to cash machines, telecommunications to production processes in engineering, and stock control to jet engines. It is a highly sought after qualification by universities and employers alike and a very rewarding subject.

You will build up your knowledge and skills in three key areas of mathematics – Pure, Mechanics and Statistics. You’ll develop your logical and analytical skills by learning to apply mathematical techniques in theoretical and real-life situations.

Grades 9-4 in seven GCSEs (AGCSE 5.00 – 5.50) plus Grade 7 in GCSE Maths or above – Grade 6, pending a diagnostic test after enrolment.

Course information

This course follows Edexcel A Level Mathematics and is assessed by examination. You will complete three 2 hour examinations at the end of Year 2.
