Introduction

Do you have the discipline and determination it takes to work in the uniformed public service industries? Find out by signing up to one of our courses. Focusing on key services including fire and rescue, the police, ambulance, prison services, customs and excise and the armed forces you’ll be given a realistic introduction to what working life is really like in the uniformed services and get the skills to prepare you for this type of work. Alongside your studies, you can also complete the Duke of Edinburgh awards.

What do we study

Lessons include a mix of classroom based study and outdoor activities, expeditions and group work. You’ll learn about the demands of working in the different public service industries, improving health and fitness, outdoor activities as well as communication skills, team work and time management.

How will I learn

You will learn through a range of practical units followed by opportunities to practice and develop skills and experience outside of the classroom environment, including residential Public Services ‘look at life’ trips, adventure activity courses and other educational trips.

What's next

On successful completion of this course you can progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Public Services.
