Our Governance
The Education Training Collective (Etc.) is the umbrella name for our group, which incorporates Bede Sixth Form College, Innersummit, NETA Training, Redcar and Cleveland College and Bede Sixth Form College.
The Bede Sixth Form College site in Thornaby, and the Redcar & Cleveland College site, both focus on general and vocational further and higher education, tailored to local communities. Academic courses are offered at Bede Sixth Form in Billingham and the college’s Sports Centre is situated close to the Sixth Form building. NETA Training Group provides a range of industrial training, as well as apprenticeships and some specialist 16 to 18 provision. The group also delivers some provision off-campus in partnership with employers and community organisations.
We are confident that students across all our campuses are receiving very high quality education, training and support to prepare them for exciting futures in higher education and employment, and are very proud of our 2025 Ofsted judgement of ‘Outstanding’. We are proud of our strong relationships with local partners and are fully committed to meeting the needs of our local communities, in particular local businesses. We strive to support economic growth through excellence in education and training, and the ability to develop strong and cohesive relationships.
Should you have any queries about the governance arrangements, or if you are interested in becoming a governor or involved with the college, please contact the Group Director of Governance (sarah.thompson@the-etc.ac.uk or 07969334693) who will be pleased to provide more information.
