Course overview

Are you interested in exploring the nature of the physical world? Do you want to know more about how physics is using in engineering and modern technology? Physics is a challenging but rewarding subject, and this course will help you understand not just the bigger things like our ever-expanding universe, but also the finer details, like how physics can improve people’s daily lives.

You will study a huge range of topics from the very large universe to the smallest quarks. You will understand how principles of physics underpin other sciences and engineering. Maths is an important aspect of physics, and you will develop your analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Grades 9-4 in seven GCSEs (AGCSE 5.00 – 5.50) plus Grade 6 in GCSE Physics or a grade 66 in GCSE Combined Scinece and a Grade 6 in GCSE Maths.

Course information

This course is assessed by a combination of practical assessments and examination. You will complete three exams at the end of Year 2, and a series of core practical assessments throughout the course.
