Course overview

Nobody can deny the effect that computers have had on our life and society. From the internet to mobile phones, space travel to medical diagnostics, computers touch every aspect of our lives and have driven world change. Join us on this course to learn how they function and how to make them work for us.

You will learn how computer systems work and develop the skills needed to write the software that makes them run. Developing practical, analytical and programming techniques you’ll develop real skills that can be taken into industry or higher education.

Course information

This course is assessed by a combination of examination and course work. In Year 1 you will complete two exams, and in Year 2 you will complete a practical coursework project and two exams.
