Course overview
You are already more of an expert in the world of business than you currently realise. Developing your understanding of the business world, this course will encourage you to consider the issues that affect the success of small and large businesses today. You’ll put that knowledge into practice by considering management decisions and recommendations based on real situations.
You’ll develop a thorough understanding of business theory and principles through our lively and active lessons. As well as making business decisions based on real life scenarios you’ll be expected to justify those decisions and back them up with sound reasoning based on evidence.
Course information
This course is assessed by examination, with your final grade based on three exams taken at the end of your second year.
Future careers could include management, international business, marketing, or even launching your own business. Some of our most recent students have gone on to study Law at Durham University, Business and Marketing at Northumbria University, Accounting and Finance at Teesside University, and Business Management at Leeds Beckett University.
Grades 9-4 in seven GCSEs (AGCSE: 5.00 -5.50) plus Grade 5 in English language and a 5 in Maths is strongly recommended.
Depending on your previous grades you may need to study English and maths alongside your other courses. These are essential skills that all employers value.
