Results day success 2024

There’s plenty to celebrate at Bede Sixth Form College in Billingham today where students are picking up a string of top results.

A future in medicine is on the cards for Charlie who achieved a full sweep of A* grades in A level Biology, Chemistry and Maths.

“I am still in shock,” said the 18-year-old from Billingham who has secured his place at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. “It has been a lot of work, but it was all worth it.”

Eva was over the moon when she opened that all-important envelope at Bede this morning.  The 18-year-old from Ingleby Barwick achieved A* grades in Art and Design and English Literature, and an A in Government and Politics.

Off to study a foundation course at the Northern School of Art, she said: “It has been nerve-wracking waiting for results, but this is great, I don’t think I could have done any better.”

It was a triple distinction star for Sport and Exercise Science student Katie.

A keen netballer, the 18-year-old from Middlesbrough has balanced her studies around her sport with support from Bede’s Institute of Sport and Education (ISE).

Now off to study physiotherapy at Leeds Beckett University, she said: “I feel great, this is what I wanted.” Of her time at college, she added: “The teachers have been really supportive, I have loved it and feel sad to leave.”
